What a spin by the Trust to say project delayed.
They have known about it ever since the start of the project, even had a drawing of it and photo's. Cost for removal built into project cost from start.
Contractor paid to do ground work surveys so they knew how big it was. Unless someone cannot measure!
What I don't know is if there was a second shelter, hence part of bricked up opening shown in castlekas web site. I was told was hit by a shell.
As far a asbestos concerned there demolition survey would have identified locations, probably the old heating pipes that ran under mortuary to old pathology building.
Would it be better to just be honest and say delays due to design issues and late design changes as is always the case with NHS builds.
