we often hear people comment on the large number of fast food takeaways in the london road and the attendant problems of litter and late night noise from revellers
feeling peckish.
noticed today 2 pizza outlets next door to each other.
further along a new business is due to open.

Who would have thought Dover would become the new Tuscany?

Pizza Sprint is good, they do a good deal any 2 x 13" pizzas with a bottle of wine for £10.

How can they afford to do that ? Can't be much profit for them can there.

That's way to many Pizza houses within a short walking distance, wierd?

The Sprint in post #1 seems more attuned to home delivery, with it's 'attention to detail' phone number.

The action seems to be in London Road between Beaconsfield and Cherry Tree.
This new one makes 11 outlets in a couple of hundred yards..

Pizza Pronto has deteriorated in the last few months - I think it must have new owners/franchisees. We don't use it often but it is the nearest one to us and we do have the occasional pizza - the last one was definitely not as appealing and while I was there the place looked shabby and grubby, a couple of dodgy characters hovered around the food and the till, and one guy went out front for a smoke and didn't wash his hands when he came back in. I won't be using them again.

That used to be the Central Cafe, opened a few times under different guises, I wish them well.
Is that the one next to Baldwin and Salter?

Planning permission to turn 2-3 London Road into a cafe was granted recently.
Whilst I wish them well, I still maintain this is not what we really need more of in this area.

David - yes it is better than an empty shop - but on the other hand a number of cafes have failed/closed on London Road over the last year or so - one has to question whether there is sufficient business to sustain the sheer number of food outlets on London Road & The High Street
