Lets try and look a bit more positive about this proposed legislation(if possible)
Surely if the owners who own 'Status' dogs do not have their dogs chipped and insured then at least it will give the police power to impound the dog, fine the owner and hopefully 'chip' the dog and pass on the costs to the owner or in extreme cases put the dog down and bar the owner from keeping future dogs.
A Vet on TV last night was advocating that certain types of dogs no longer have a place in todays society and should be banned completely.
There are over 5000 reported cases of dog related injuries per year that require hospital treatment.Surely the Govt. have to do something to stop the wide spread increase of these thugs owning vicious dogs for no reason other than to intimidate members of the public. Its good for the dogs and good for society.
I personally would rather see these thugs chipped and muzzled and kept on a leash.
