in addition to info in the link below it has been announced that the u.k. will sending 6 million quid to the appropriate agencies there, also humanitarian experts are already on their way.

let's hope that the aid gets through to the right people, the victims of the tsunami a few years back were aware of the help we gave but they didn't see it arrive.

food drink shelter and medical should always be the format of aid
not cash

welcome jeremy, i haven't watched the t.v. coverage but i was reading this morning that aid is only now getting through to the worst hit areas.
must be a traumatic time for the fiipinos/filipinas living here that have not been able to contact their families and friends back home.

Vast amounts of overseas aid money is spent on "climate change" projects in the third world. Most of this cash ends up in the pockets of those who know a good scam when they see it.
A billion quid would go a long way in helping these poor folk but sadly that's earmarked for climate change schemes so inevitably more deaths and prolonged agony.
