Hi Paul, you make it sound like no-one's submissions (including DDCs) will be considered or that they even matter....of course this is what the DHB exec would like everyone to believe and also why everyone who is interested in the port and the future of Dover and the port needs to carefully read the DHB's revised proposal (not the publicity fluff that they posted out, but the proposal itself) and make their submissions on it.

DPPT has put forward an alternative route for the future of the port as part of the consultation process and made an offer to buy the port if (now when) DHB decide to continue with a private equity sale. Our offer to buy the port cannot be considered by the Minister until after the DHB proposal and request for transfer has been decided on, that is true, but our alternative vision for the future ownership and governance of the port can and will be considered by the Minister as part of the consultation and the Minister could decide to modify the DHB proposal accordingly. Alternative views put forward by Alexander and others will also be considered by the Minister as part of the consultation and these also may be incorporated as modifications to the DHB proposal by the Minister.

Submissions from stakeholders and interested parties matter and will be considered, may be used as part of the reasoning to reject the DHB proposal or may be incorporated as modifications to the DHB proposal made by the Minister. To suggest otherwise is not in the best interests of Dover, the Port or the District and I know that you have those best interests at heart.
