    Hi all.

DPPT is inviting all members of the wider public who live within, work within or have businesses with registered offices within the Dover District Council area to buy a membership share as per the DPPT constitution. DPPT is an Industrial Provident Society (IPS) constituted for mass membership. It is about the DPPT ensuring that it will be accountable to a membership that are fully representative of a wide cross section of the community all of whom know that they have a say in the strategic development and direction of the port because they will own a share of it through the DPPT when our bid is successful. This share issue is not about how much money it raises, it is about demonstrating a commitment to a truly enduring stake belonging to the communities most affected by the port's operations and development in the port...Government Criteria number 1 ...... shall deliver a significant and enduring stake for the community in the future direction and development of the port...... DPPT aims to prove that support for community ownership extends well beyond the bounds of the area sampled in last year's Parish Poll and that the communities of Dover and Dover District are committed enough to ensuring that the port's future ownership being in community hands that they are prepared to put in good money in order to try and ensure that it happens.
