We shouldn't get upset with each other about the Port, there are a number of factors involved that the Government has to take into consideration by law, before reaching a decision.
One of these is the law on carbon emissions, which, in my view, makes it unfeasable to accept the plan of DHB to build a T2 in order to accommoadte an increase of 100% over the next 30 years of heavy vehicle traffic passing through Dover Port.
The T2 to cater for the doubling of heavy goods vehicles is the reason given by DHB to ask for the Port to be privatised, and no other reason has been given by DHB.
I honestly cannot see the Ministry of Transport accepting this plan, as it would be against British law and contrary to legal obligations reached in Parliament on the reduction of carbon emissions.
