Just returned briefly to the office after voting at 4.10pm and there was a very steady flow of people to the polling station, in fact I have never seen that particular polling station so busy.
OK so it being busy reflects that the voting times are truncated to just 5 hours but even so it does demonstrate that people do care about the issue and are taking to opportunity to have their say.
i live a few doors from a polling station, i went outside to do a couple of jobs in my front patch at 4.15 and there was a steady stream of people going past clutching the dppt leaflet.
about 4.45 i went to cast my vote and people were coming from all directions and entering the polling station.
i stood outside my front door a few minutes ago and there were still people going in at the same rate. i think that the postal campaign has been good, the message was simply put and stacks of leaflets have besieged people.
got yet another one through the door about half an hour ago, my unscientific prediction based on what i have witnessed in my road coupled with the feel good factor caused by a lovely early spring evening is that there will be high turn out.
Well my family and I went down and voted today, seemed incredibly busy at the Buckland Community Centre where we had to vote. Very busy in fact so that we had to go back.
Really nice to hopefully see that apathy hasn't ruled for once.
I just hope those who wish to vote against the privatisation don't put an X in the wrong box as some people have been a little confused by the wording on the question we have been asked!
I wonder when we know the results and how it will affect things. Hopefully for the good with any luck.
