I walked through the park late this morning, no police about but plenty of anti social behaviour going on.
Nothing changes.

Operation Urban was only a PR exercise as is now confirmed. A few years back the police implemented a cycling ban in the pedestrianised town centre. Signs were put up and the police took along Graham of the Mercury to witness their actions. Cyclists were stopped and told that next time there would be a fine if they transgressed. True to form we never saw any police officers after that day and a week later all the signs were taken down.

#2 Poor woman.
The only time I see a policeman/woman is when they are in Morrisons or in a car, or going to a house, never what once upon a time would have been called walking the beat.

They can only do what their resources enable them to do. It's pointless shooting the messenger.

I agree Ray but it all depends how those resources are spent.
Which is more important for example a serious crime that happened over 20yrs ago or several smaller crimes that happened yesterday, I think the newer ones as that hopefully may stop a more serious one in the future.

only if enough police officers are about and a long prison offender is given.

A rare sight just now as 2(two) police cars parked opposite me. No drama though just two WPCs transferred what looked like computer bags from one car to the other.

Same again this morning, one afternoon last week there were about 30 spread between the bandstand and the bus stop areas.

The downside to this fine weather is that it brings out park drinkers, I feel sure that many are not local but have heard that anything goes here.

And after a days hard drinking in the park its time to go round to the church soup kitchen for some grub as theyve spent all their benefit money.
