Passport checks.

  Just saw the passport check in action on Sky News, the car pulled up to the check in booth and the driver handed the passports to the ferry company operative, an initial concern for me is from that there is no face to passport check, from the position of the car to the ticket booth window any people in the back could not be clearly viewed?

  I thought they were deferring the start of this. Just to add to the problem French air traffic controllers are on strike today so there should be extra traffic for the ferries.

  25% of passports checked now, 50% next month and 100% in June.

  Much as I like the idea of phasing it in over a period of time it reaches a crescendo at the height of the tourist season.

  Of all the Europeans the only ones who will have to use a passport is us, the rest can use a ID card!
