Colin, I think I've mentioned this before. Some time ago I saw a Police car parked almost exactly where the Merc is in #1 and called the attention of a Revenue Generating Traffic Officer aka Parking Warden to it. I pointed out that NO vehicle, except those of the emergency services responding to an emergency can park on double yellow lines and therefore she should issue a ticket to the said offending vehicle. Her reply? "Sorry, it's more than my job's worth".
I wasn't sure whether she meant the fine was more than she earnt, or whether she'd get in trouble for obeying and enforcing the law properly. Either way, the ticket wasn't issued and the officers were able to do their banking business in the B&B BS unpunished.
One rule for some and another rule for others eh?
