One moneymaking business that`s sure to prosper. Took these 2 cars being dealt with 20 minute`s apart. I`ve often had the idea of a free first hour in car parks, for those who just want to quickly pop in town for something. The traffic warden is behind the vehicle.

nice though colin, but parking is an important part of the income to any council.

I saw the warden coming further up, and passing the maroon escort estate, I noted no ticket on it, so I sat on the wall opposite and pictured the inevitable result. Possibly eating in the seasports centre. An expensive meal. Any thoughts on all this?

The restaurant's closed at the moment, Colin, so the owner won't be enjoying a meal in the Seasports Centre, expensive or otherwise!

Colin, I think I've mentioned this before. Some time ago I saw a Police car parked almost exactly where the Merc is in #1 and called the attention of a Revenue Generating Traffic Officer aka Parking Warden to it. I pointed out that NO vehicle, except those of the emergency services responding to an emergency can park on double yellow lines and therefore she should issue a ticket to the said offending vehicle. Her reply? "Sorry, it's more than my job's worth".
I wasn't sure whether she meant the fine was more than she earnt, or whether she'd get in trouble for obeying and enforcing the law properly. Either way, the ticket wasn't issued and the officers were able to do their banking business in the B&B BS unpunished.
One rule for some and another rule for others eh?

Not sure if your facts are right there, Sid. I think Blue Badge holders can park on double yellows; they always bloody well do, anyway!

Well, in it`s early days, I praised it up on here as it was good food and service, even though pricey. However, the prices and service defeated it for me in the end, as I could get 2 full breakfast`s, PLUS TEA, at several other places. A shame if it has had to close, but the money and customer`s are just not there. Most Dovorian`s rarely venture beyond the former Market Square. (Roger, I`ll remove the word `former` from the market square when I see a market put back).

Parking revenue is a very important aspect of income generation for DDC and actually helps keeps services going.
I'm no longer Dover Business Support Manager, so don't know if they are doing anything about it; my guess is not and that they are only recruiting businesses to DBS and their market ideas (which I believe are designed to make it fail and bring them into further disrepute).
If the SSC restaurant has actually closed, that is very sad, very sad indeed, but bad service and being far too expensive, outweighs the good food they (eventually) served. Big shame.
You can call the Market Square what you like Colin, I'm not involved in anything any more; my understanding is that it starts on the 29th. of May.

I don't know the answer to that one Howard, but I doubt it's closed for good. Vista Leisure have the concession, in fact they're managing the place, so I would imagine it won't be long before we'll be able to buy their brand of expensive and greasy food, as we can now at the Swimming Pool now if we're desperate.
