Have been away for a few days and have been stunned by this council's policy on parking charges!

When you say stunned by this Council Terry, do you mean you are stunned by Chichester's policy, or Dover's ?
I must be honest it's like no charge at all.

I have always thought that if we consulted our local stores and businesses, we could offer a free parking day midweek to encourage footfall in our town centres on their slow days. Maybe support that by making on street parking free at weekends?

Free parking for even an hour would benefit so many shops and small businesses in Dover, much as I applaud Chichester's policy it can hardly be cost effective.

Roger - Yes it was ambiguous I must admit, unintentionally so. Either will do though!
All the car parks were the same by the way.
