always a contentious subject none more so than at gravesham council in north kent.
they need to find 400 grand quickly to make up for an overspend earlier in the year and are proposing doubling present rates.
they have thrown it open to the public to decide how they recoup the dosh and also on how to save a million a year for the next 3 years.
interestingly enough parking is free on a saturday in gravesend presumably to give traders a chance against the challenge from nearby bluewater.

Perhaps PaulW could comment on whether Dover will enjoy free parking on the Saturdays before Christmas, as has been the case in the past?
