I had to go to Buckland Hospital this morning the amount of cars that are parking on the corners is terrible.there is a white ford parked on the corner of Heathfield & Minervia you can not really call it parked the front of the car was taking up most of the juction making it dangerous for cars to get round the corner,or very hard for people with mobility scooter to get off the path,it is not just there but a lot of cars, park where the curb is dipped for wheelchair pushchairs & mobility scooters to get passed.
I also noticed how bad the pavement is in Coombe Valley road there are more bumps pot holes you can count
I hope the K.CC do something about it very soon

See me rant here (post #11):

I don't see what Heathfield and Minerva have to do with the hospital. Unless of course that was the nearest place with a parking space

.
It's too late for KCC to sort out the parking issues in Dover if you ask me. It's already beyond broken.

Residents around my way have been lobbying (with the help of our councillor) DDC Parking Services (now there's an oxymoron if ever there was one) for years with regard to the overloaded situation, and for just as long Parking Services have agreed that they should do something about it. Solution: they've sat on it.
Meanwhile DDC Planning are happily approving applications for conversions of houses to flats while refusing to consider parking as a legitimate objection as it is a pre-existing problem, i.e. not one created by the conversion.
Joined-up DDC thinking: don't you just love it.

Theres just so many more cars on the roads now and the parking situation is just getting worse and worse. Some families can have 2-3 cars per household and company vans are often now brought home rather than the companys have to find extra storage space to keep them. This practice is now quite common and doesnt help the situation.

Works vans, usually Civil engineering ones are the biggest problem in my area as businesses tend not to keep depots anymore. Another thing that doesn't help is those with garages using them to store stuff instead putting their car in them.

Really is time we remembered that cities/towns/villages are for people not cars; then we might start to redress the balance in favour of people
