It's more about finding somewhere for groups of people who temporarily have nowhere to go in an emergency - using both meanings of the term, which is why the public loos were built at Temple Ewell in the days before the A2 bypass.

In the case of Lydden we have tables and chairs enough to fill the hall, and a set of judo mats for any who want to lay down or have a bit of exercise. We don't have facilities to store emergency supplies and have no shop in the village so we would have to rely on local goodwill, which would be forthcoming, if they became needed.
