    fascinating thread with so many posts/opinions on this so far today.

    i think we are all agreed that extremes of weather are becoming more common, i suspect philip's sock in the tumble drier maybe the cause.

    the people most affected by snow drifts, floods and the like live in rural communities and village halls seem to be equipped with the basic essentials like kitchens and toilets to deal with emergencies.

    it seems that camp beds are out of the question due to cost and storage issues, would blankets be an affordable option?
