  I thought this thread was about a really serious emergency situation that affected an area not one or two people.
  
  I am on my own a lot of the time during the day, I better add out of choice. My emergency contacts are in the following order, different family members even if they are at work, a couple of neighbours, 101 or 999 depending what the problem was, the very last place I would think of contacting would be any council or councillor.
