"Thank you David. In which case, Ray....my fullest apologies. Off to Morrisons to buy a fresh humble pie......"
"No problem Andy, understandable as I was commenting on a post around #5 to #8 where Vic had come in to state the 9 or so elections that he was going to stand in next and was saying what he is doing now on his four councils.
Which has now disappeared and so it might look now like I'm having a go at him for no reason.
Hopefully now we can get back to the subject of Howard's original post."
Nicely dealt with gentlemen
Just to intercede at this point and pose a question if I may? Why would anyone want to represent a Parish Council they do not have a vested interest in? I live in Tower Hamlets and have close relations in Shepherdswell, therefore I have an interest in how these 'parishes' are affected by local issues, but I have absolutely no interest in how River, Lydden, Coldred etc are run. Why would I wish to become a representative on one, let alone several?
Surely there is a case to answer in limiting one elected representative to one council? Can anyone enlighten me as to why we have a situation where one person, not of the parish, can sit on multiple councils?
