Nothing about the modern Olympics is timed for any reason other than advertising.
I have not bothered with the last two Olympics so I cannot tell whether the events actually fit together well or whether there is the least audience for the paralympics.
My spell-checker does not like the word 'paralympics' anyway.
They say that there is 11% interest among disabled people for the events. They may be more interested than the rest of us.
Then there is the Bophal controversy. If it's not surly 'raspberries' it's dead Asians, there's not a lot of fun to be had as a sponsor these days.
Still, the 3% tax on those in the Public Sector who remain in the pension fund has to be spent somewhere.
