The Eighth Annual Paper Boat Race.

The Town Centre Management may have sunk without trace but the Paper Boat Race sails on!

This charming, eccentrically British custom has been taken up by the London Road Community Forum. Once again paper boats will sail majestically down the River Dour from the Pencester Road bridge. Saturday June 28th is the date with the first launch time at noon. Why not enter a single boat or even an office or works team? Primary schools are also being encouraged to join in the fun. Entry is £1 per boat. This is a charity event with all the proceeds going to the Pilgrim's Hospice.

For the primary schools the prizes are £50 for the fastest boat and a shield that the school keeps for a year. Adults will also win prizes.

To be sure of a place you can pre-book your boat now by emailing boatrace@londonroad.info A unique number will be emailed back to you.

Any other enquiries can be made by calling Dover 205411
