So Sid, every homeless person is a drug-addled benefits scrounger who probably likes drinking blood and howling at the moon? Get a grip and look around. I can tell you about the 14 year old girl sleeping (I use the term loosely because she spent most of the time fending off pimps and drug pushers and the occasional rapist and kiddie-fiddler) in doorways and on benches (until moved on by the police) because it was preferable to spending one more night in her fathers house while he "did that" to her again. The guy who rapidly and through no fault, initially, of his own lost his job, then his house, then his family and took some solace in drink (and you know it helps sometimes, chaps) and found himself caring so little about himself and his rotten life that he just stayed sat where he was (and no, he didn't claim any benefits - what was the point, he was worthless and useless, and no value, according to him) until I removed his boots for him and discovered he had trench foot because he hadn't taken them off in 2 years.
Try to think around stuff and ignore your inner Littlejohn - sometimes people are rotten, sometimes they are not - usually they are a mixture. Seeing all homeless as the same is like saying all Coppers are bad...............
