  Lets be clear the treatment this lady was subjected to is appalling and there can be no excuses from those guilty and they should be dealt with severely.
  
  I wonder, however, if instead the Asian women presented herself as being integrated with westernised dress, no headscarfe and so on, whether she would have suffered the same level of abuse. We know such dress is a cultural thing, rather than a religious one as many good muslims are integrated into our society.
  
  As I say no excuses at all but it would be an interesting experiment to see if the abuse was indeed racially motivated (or to what degree it was) and to what extent it was culturally motivated.
  
  Mind you those guilty of this must be so thick and ignorant they might not know the difference!!
