10:5384927We have an excellent Slovakian painter who has nearly finished painting the outside of Blakes. Unfortunately the weather has put a stop to his work and he needs some inside work in order to pay his rent. If anyone has any interior decorating work please let me know. He charges a daily rate and you will have to supply the materials.

19:1685021We had a Slovakian young guy help us at home last year and earlier this year. A very hard-working young man who had a night-shift job but worked during the day.
He'd come over here to work and work he did; he was trying to earn enough to build his own home back in Slovakia - he'd half built it and needed more money so came to work for it.

19:4885033good to hear he is getting on well, none of them spoke a word of english when they lived next door, all 3 worked at the fancy box factory, you could see that he wanted something more physically exacting to do.
they wouldn't mix with the other czechs and slovaks around here, they carefully kept their distance.

19:5585037A pretty intelligent guy too; his English improved quite quickly. I wonder why they didn't mix much ?
Maybe he'll be back next year to earn money to put the roof on.
