Vic, once you made public the decision to withdraw from the post of chairman of UKIP Dover and Deal at the next meeting, the news immediately spreads, as UKIP is a political party with democratic structures within the party, and of public interest.
Of-course the new commitee members and the chairman will be from within the Dover and Deal area, which is why local people interested in UKIP matters ought to know.
It wouldn't be right not to inform the public and UKIP members/supporters before the meeting, ie before stepping down as chairman, otherwise the local branch of the party would find themselves without a new commmittee (you mentioned a new committee) and without a chairman.
This could be damaging to the party.
