I can't work out why someone in their 20's would want to be in a class with others much younger.

Several reasons, in their minds claiming to be a child means less likely to be refused entry right the way through to deliberate grooming of classmates.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

All rather worrying,I remember reading a year or two back that the Home Office were using experts to decide on ages of people claiming to be children when entering the country. I appreciate they cannot be exact but surely men in their twenties cannot pretend they are 14? Luckily the problem hasn't hit Dover yet.

If they claim to be underage they are classified as unaccompanied minors , placed in foster care & get everything found from us the council tax payer, they even qualify for free university fees [court rulings]. When they are due to leave care [age] there are court rulings that still require support to be given.
KCC who are responsible get some compensation for government but not total re-imbursement. the deficit is met by us the council tax payer. Thanet is the area where the majority in Kent are placed.

That's basically what I have heard Paul, what mystifies is how the foster parents don't get suspicious when their 12 year old charge uses up all the shaving cream.

I know people who have fostered and they certainly done well out of it Paul, the downside is that a lot of the kids have come from bad backgrounds and can cause serious problems.
