    Overhanging foliage

A house in our village, over the last few years, has had tree and shrub foliage overhanging the pavement. When the KCC came round recently to survey the road-mending they left the householder a notice that, unless the foliage was trimmed back in SEVEN DAYS, the council would do it and send a bill to them. It was acted on immediately and most of the foliage has now been removed back to the property boundary.

Anyone worried about overhanging or dangerous hedges and foliage or something blocking the pavement, do contact KCC Highways - if you write or e-mail then keep a copy and write again if nothing is done.

Nomally our parish council keeps a check on things like this, and the KCC come, I think, twice a year to trim back verges and hedges overhanging roads and pavements.
