More or less in the play offs now and the big question must be if they do get into the football league can the club afford to go full time.

They will need about 2500 at each match or 3000 it can be done many years ago you would get 3000+to see Dover play Ashford.

The Chairman states he is up for it Howard but will need the support of those in and around Dover but will he get it, I just do not know.
When we get the big games they will all be there crying for tickets and if we get to Wembley in the play off final, just watch then come out of the woodwork with. "Can you get me a ticket please I always like to support my local team" Yes when the good games are there they do.
When it's wet and cold they stay at home and shout how well we are doing, but their not their to put there money into the club week in week out which is what is needed. The Chairman got a slagging the other week because he said what he thought of the Town not supporting the club, trouble is he was dam right.
The building of the new stand and changing rooms are about to be started ready for next season and while some grants have been achieved, I expect the Directors are putting their money in as well.

Harry it is not all like you put it, some of us cannot stand or sit in the cold anymore ,I have not been so much because of that and I am not the only one like that .It would help if we had some where to sit and it was warm but the club cannot go that far with the cost of doing it for just a few.Dover has the best chairman a club could aske for .

I have not been to a football match since I was dragged by my father to see Dulwich Hamlet as a child but that does not mean I do not support Dover. My grandson and his wife go whenever they can work and child care permitting.
I buy my Striker tickets every week as do many others and have never won a penny in the 12 years or so I have been doing it or maybe that does not count as support.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Also the cost of getting in +hot drink and a pie about £20 and as a OAP I could not go more then once a month. But I still support them and have done off and on from the late 1940s.

Jan as I run the Striker Lottery for the club as a volunteer and I can tell you that being a Striker Lottery member IS supporting the Club as all the profit goes into the club. You are always welcome to attend the draw on a Wednesday around 1200 hrs. Good luck with future draws Jan you never know this weeks winner had never won before.
Vic I understand what you say but the cost of getting in is not much different to any of the clubs at this level and you could take a flask of soup and a Mars bar mate. Only joking.
I think the Chairman was getting more at those that do like the game, but turn up for the big ones however when it comes to the weekly league game they would rather watch games on TV. He need them to be there and support the club.

Unfortunately like many supporters I would sooner put the gate money into a few tinnies and watch around a mates house in warm and dry. Doesn't help the club but that's the way of the world, I don't however come out of the woodwork for the big matches either.

Assuming they qualify for the play offs there will be good revenue coming from the two legs with away support from both sides boosting attendances. I take it that BT Sport will screen them live.
