Started today in Pencester Gdns near the Stembrook conveniences, must have been more than 10 this morning, some with dogs and extra strength lager making rather a lot of noise.

I also saw them today,the usual same old faces and a couple of new members to the group.Hope ol Bill keep there promise of zero tolerance to this forever ongoing problem.

This is why we shop at Deal only going into Dover if we have to.

A few years back we were told by the police that street drinking was a lifestyle choice and they could do nothing about it.
We then got a new commander that took a different view and listened to what the public wanted, this resulted in a much more visible presence in the town during the day and it had the desired effect. I notice that there has been less officers in the town of late and fear that the old problem could return. Those extra officers we had must have been drafted in from another town which is probably experiencing a rise in street drinking.
The truth is that there are not enough officers to go around and the future looks bleak in that regard.

is it not an alcohol control zone in Dover, not that it effects anyone the amount of people male/female drinking the super strength. Even had an occasion at 6am through market square driving having to stop as three peeps drinking their cans just blithly walking across road on a Sunday.

Maybe they,ll step up their patrols as the weather warms up and more of the drinkers come out.We can only hope.

As it seems to be starting up again now is the time to meet it head on and set the scene for the summer.
