    I was due to check on the the 3 Dexter cows recently installed up at St Martin's battery but got a message that they have been taken back to the farm after being attacked by a dog. SMB is one of the smallest fields up there so is not popular with dog walkers who much prefer the expanse of Clarendon field. All fields are clearly marked when animals are grazing in them so responsible dog owners will let their dog run free only in vacant fields. It makes me wonder if the attack was deliberate.
