    It's a pity that local businesses couldn't take advantage of "affordable (what's that ?) advertising on it.

    If it stays (the big-screen) and the responsibility for it is taken over by a private company, they will probably charge local businesses too much, so it won't work for the benefit of the Town anyway.

    If it is to stay, I would have thought that shorter hours would be sensible too.

    The Olympic banners and brackets were another great opportunity for local businesses, but again, a private company took over respnsibility for them and they were then subsequently offered at too high a price.
