Another service run into the ground.I had experience of these delays a couple of years ago when working in Ramsgate. An elderly gent tripped off the kerb nearby and couldnt get up,turned out he had broken his hip.We stayed with him and kept him comfortable for around 2 hours before a paramedic arrived who couldnt get him into the car due to his injury.Another half hour went by before an ambulance came.We made enquirys later that evening as to how he was and unfortunatly he had died.I often wonder if he had help quicker if he would still be alive. He was quite a frail old man.

The morale of many paramedics was sapped when the East Kent bit was centralised at Ashford meaning staff living in say Dover or Folkestone had to get to Ashford to start their shift and finish there before they could set off for home. Previously they would start from the nearest ambulance station. A strange decision in my view with the Operation Stack problems.
