Oh dear! try as they might, the mighty conglomeration of all the Other parties (ie not the central 3 ) just cannot move out of the 9% slot in all the polls.
Within this world of 9% there may indeed be some movement for this or that party, but its not breaking out of that 9% box. So the movement is so low as to not register with the pollsters, or in other words, we are seeing miniscule movement of perhaps an irrelevent level. At one point Others did reach the dizzy heights of 10% but have fallen back a tiny amount. So if any of them were hoping for a major breakthrough, well its just not happening.
This may be due to the Clegg effect. He has in fact mopped up all the floaters under his wing, leaving little room for 'Others' such as the Greens or UKIP to impact. So my feeling is that the Clegg revolution has been bad news for the smaller parties as he has attracted like moths to an attractive flame, all the votes these guys would have received. The protest anti politics vote has gone with Clegg...so far.
The 9% is made up of SNP, Plaid Cymru, all the NI parties as well as UKIP, Green etc. So it is hard to say who is the 9%, depends on where the polling was taken.
I agree, but most polls are basing it on a full house of commons and SNP etc all have seats. Polls could be clearer in explaining where poll was taken and whether or not Wales, Scotland, NI were included. But then it would mean them having to do more work
