All in it together ?.....George Osborne`s family business reveals big losses.
The company losses last financial year was £ 750,000.
The third year in a row losses have been £ 150,000 the year before and £ 7,500,000 the preceding year.
The company made workforce cutbacks saving £ 500,000.However the ``Directors`` have only taken a small reduction and have kept their salaries at more than £ One million.
The company has increased borrowing by £ one million totalling now £ two million.
The company continued to donate to Party Funds until 2010.
The company turnover is £ 23 million.45% of sales are export..............35% to ``Europe``
Company accounts review states ``the company will continue to focus on `cost control`
? ` when you are in deficit you cannot keep borrowing`
? `Director`s salaries did not suffer that much through out`
Can we now bury ``we are all in this together`` ..............or is it all Brown`s fault ?
Merry Christmas.

I didn't really answer what was posted Roger, it does not deserve an intelligent answer.

Interesting stuff though Reg. I didnt realise all that... I cant remember the name of the company now but the Osbornes are in wallpaper as I understand it.
But to be fair, that is the standard procedure though when companies hit financial trouble sadly..ie they lay off the workers.

If you go to all the trouble, work and investment of creating a company or organisation which then provides employment, or some decent outcomes for people, I think we should perhaps be less speedy to say that you should disadvantage yourself if things go a bit wrong for a while. Taking the risks, making the investment, supporting local employment - does that count for nothing?
But hey ho - perhaps I should have resisted........

Bern I dont think it counts for much. We had a business for many years, we employed people as well, but we were very much on our own. No help came from any where. We did all the shovelling ourselves and there was no one there with a net when things got difficult. Every business has some difficulty at some time..fortunately we were okay over the long term until we stopped it ourselves at the end.
We never got any acknowledgment for the effort made or for the effort made to employ people..it counted for nothing.
But then I dont think we were expecting anything either.

So right Bern.... Businesses do work in cycles and are always having to adapt and change, sometimes it works well, sometimes less so. That is it.
I can only agree with you both.......
