But going back to the post I made concerning the numbers of American soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, and those wounded in Iraq, there is to add that every year, 6,000 American veterans commit suicide, and a further 12,000 attempt suicide.
It has also been noted that an American official who should have made this known, deliberately lied about the numbers and played them down, until there was an uproar about it, and the truth came out.
I was reading one article about how one US soldier rescued many colleagues in Iraq who had been ambushed, exposing himslef to enemy fire, while his comrades gave fcover with their weapons.
They managed to rescue them, men and woman soldiers who were trapped in an overturened vehicle, including nurses, but half of them were badly wounded.
All the time mortar fire was raining down on them.
Well, the officer in command, who with his men are back in America, said that a few of his soldiers who he knew personally told him that they cannot live on with the horrors they saw and experienced.
That was one example of a long list hat comes from war in areas like Iraq and Afghanistan, where thousands of men are maimed or killed and never manage to quell the roots of the insurgency, which only goes on.
I thinlk that the human suffering of the soldiers sent to be sacrificed in a lost cause in another country, and of their loved ones, cannot be measured by mortal people.
I suppose one could add that the Commander of the Police has recently issued a warning in Britain that terrorist attacks are very likely since Bin Laden's been cancelled, and has asked the public to be on the allert.
