You have a point there (#1) Howard.
The headline on the article is equally skewed and cagey...
"Organic food no better for you, suggests US study"
Growing food as far away as possible from the petri dish and test-tube has to be of real benefit to us all. I am trying to eat my way through two packs of South African apples, although they were marked down they were put into cold storage too early also. The outer portion is all that is just about fit to eat. Thus a penny saved is a pound wasted. My 'statutory rights' may well be protected, but when will it be worthwhile to take two bus trips and spend half a day on the matter?

Being organic does not necessarily mean that it is GOOD !

Next year I plan on opening an egg farm producing organic eggs where no fish or bone powder is used to feed the hens, but only greens and grain products.

Yes Tom,
I meant that, although Organic, there can be other things which can affect the quality of food, ie. storage time, harvesting before properly ripe.
I am always in favour of naturally grown produce, not treated with chemicals, antibiotics etc.
For a long time I kept free-range chickens (up to 22 at one time), always free to roam the big garden and would not have kept in a coop during the day.
A TV programme (Horizon I think) on controlling Superbugs this week gave details of how antibiotics are promoting and spreading superbugs, in farm animals and humans. Frightening !
