Sadly I have had to close the OPEN letters page. As everyone can see we are being blitzed by dreadful spam. The idea of that Letters Page was that it could be open to everyone and anyone without any membership required and with totally free and easy access. Of course doing that is not without its risks and we have finally succumbed.
WE will regroup and see if anything can be done to save it. In the meantime apologies to those who liked to use it.
PaulB, I am sorry it has happened - it is such a great thing to have the means for open debate...it's what makes our democracy worth the struggle, and I thank you for that opportunity. I hope it can be fixed and start again - it really is such a mark of civilisation that free speech is accorded to us.

I'm very sorry you have had to make this decision, Paul.

I was amazed that you were able to keep it open for so long PaulB, what with 'hackers' computers set on auto to continually spam open forums. It is a shame that the community loses out on another free service

Is there anywhere else on here where we can have a voice, or is that it, kaput?
That indeed would be a sad day.

Andrew there may be some confusion here..everything is staying open so all can continue to have a voice...both in this Letters Club and in the Comments section. The Comments pages are open to everyone everywhere although I hope Im not tempting fate mentioning that.
Nothing else is closing..its just the
OPEN To All - Letters
..see menu on left.
Its now been closed due to excessive spamming. It was open to everyone, no membership required, but sadly you can see the result of that open policy.
No problem, Paul - thanks for clearing that up.
I'll keep posting then; it's a great forum for open debate among people who all at heart care for the future wellbeing of dear old Dubris.
Regards all,
Andy
