All politicians are not trusted by the public that's why around 50% don't vote.
It's not apathy its disgust that the wishes of the public are totally ignored by the Westminster arrogant few and the local political lackeys that campaign to put them there

Politics is on its way out.
The new word will be constitutional government, administering to the people following a set of laws.

Uprising, Keith!
Who spoke of an uprising?
A constitutional party that presents itself democratically cannot be accused of an uprising. A party can be a communion of people where all members take part. And it can be elected.
Elected means chosen.

Without politics the Dover Forum would be like a Parish Magazine......most of them are thrown in the Bin ,,,,unopened...
Suprisingly I dont agree with post 15 I find the local information far more intresting than generic , widesweeping and interminable , Im right you are wrong because I said so political threads . I dont mind debate and if I am asked for an explaination I will provide one , if someone posts something which is in direct contradiction to that which I know as fact then I will post but the pantomine antics and endless repatition of bumpersticker phraseology is mind numbing , In my opinion of course

Politics as we know it is like a stick.
It's when we get the wrong end of the stick that it becomes painful.
The worst thing imaginable is the idea of a political pendulum, where it goes from the Tories to Labour, and back again, with the LibDem cucu popping out from somewhere above the gong showing its presence and upsetting people even more.
The only meaningful participation of the population in politics would be through real-time participation in legislation on important issues, and not only on a one-off election every 5 years based on false promises.
Apart from Eric Pickles, who deserves full marks, the Tories are only ever telling us how unemployment will rise, how we will get beaten with spending cuts, and punished. How things will only get worse not better.
