It's sad, its tragic but it is what it is.
Can't you recognise needless deaths of people who have done no wrong? If we (the UK) offered a safe means of asylum application (not necessarily a lenient one) then the business model of the people traffickers would cease to exist overnight.
But that won't happen because it would remove Patel and co's political motivation at a stroke.
