Today I met a forumite who bet me Dover would finish second in the league
I said they would finish third.
Now theres a fiver on the outcome
I hope I get this prediction wrong, and Dover do get top spot or second place
i would happily part with the fiver

Only one goes up automatically? So anywhere 2nd to 5th would mean all the excitement of the play offs.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Yes Jan. There are several on the go at the moment but far preferable to the ubiquitous political threads on here

Yes but to be second or third you get home advantage. Hey but I am still looking to win my ten pounds with Vic that we will win the league, taken at the start of the season.

I will honour my bet with Vic as well Keith, but as said I still think I can win my one even though it is a slim chance. I am also still at the ground long after the final whistle. I see no point in leaving a game prior to the end even if they do run out of Mars Bars in the club tea room.

If we do go up it is a massive leap, a nationwide league with a lot of "big" ex league clubs that are finding it difficult to get promotion from. If we are promoted we will be in the group of smaller clubs in the league that will probably be glad to avoid relegation and the admission costs will rocket, is it a case of be careful what you wish for?
