  So there I was, walking along that promenade about 40 years ago, when I heard this almighty bang.

  I discovered that the shunter had underestimated the length of the train and ran over the buffer stop! I wonder where the shunter's mate was!
  
  I dug the slide out as I thought it showed the end of the wall, but sadly not.
