Just had a knock on the door, when I answered a girl aged around 10 stuck a small bucket out and uttered the words "give money for children". To cap it all she looked surprised when I politely declined.

Someone was saying that foreign guests are getting kids to knock on elderly peoples doors and while the person s back is turned to get money an adult will slip in the house and take what they can .Maybe they have been watching you Mr MacSweeney for some time

Wise to all these tricks now I didn't take my eyes off her. When I lived in London we had refugees from wars in Bosnia and Kosovo and some of them were career criminals training their children to be pick pockets and purse snatchers in supermarkets.

I wonder if she is connected in some way to the two foreign supposed beggars in town who have been annoying people but apparently have a nice car, an up to date i-phone and live somewhere in Whitfield.

Yes Brian, I know quite a few people complained to the police about the woman who was apparently quite aggressive, they have been in the town and around Morrisons and Farmfood area for a few days.
Someone said they complained to Social Services about them using the child but they said they could not do anything.
