I've written before how in the middle of the Somerset countryside bus-stops have digital solar-powered displays showing updated bus times and services - a bit like you see at train stations.
Unfortunately such 'high tech' doesn't seem to be part of Stagecoach's plan and we have to rely on small font timetables thought they do have real-time bus info on-line.
Today, having checked both paper timetable and on-line I join others at South Street to catch 'bus to Dover (in my case).
We watch as Southern Water turn up and start putting down 'cones' eventually blocking off the whole of South Street to vehicular traffic.
A 'bus for Sholden turns up and is sent away by the Water guy.
A ask the guy what is going on and apparently Stagecoach have been told South Street closed but haven't told all their drivers!
'buses apparently going from Queen St but by now we have all 'missed the bus' anyway.
No information whatsoever for passengers!
Not impressed. Have given up and gone home.
