Im looking out on the seafront as we speak Philip and you are not painting a fair picture above there..broken bottles and food wrappers are not the norm here on the seafront. The place is spotless today as it is generally. Much work has been done, our seafront has won awards, as has the Seasport Centre, the lawns are looking good and new planting has taken place down towards the eastern docks end too, so all n all its looking as good as we can make it I would say.
Yes it is true that if you go down after a busy hot summers day you may well find wrappers etc, that is inevitable sadly, due to the general carelessness in casting away rubbish by the populace as a whole. But the rubbish doesnt stay around long. I have put pictures up here previously showing how clean it all is... its a combination of effort from both DDC and DHB as I understand it that keeps it as is.
A big effort goes in. Things dont get like this without considerable daily effort. There is nothing rundown or seedy looking about Dover Seafront so we should give it a big thumbsup. This of course is not to say that the rest of the town couldnt stand some extra attention.
