    #18 Chris. Sponsorship is part of marketing and that is an allowable business expense quite legitimately. Why on earth should they not take whatever tax breaks they can get. I have no time for the heavy handedness of the sponsorship deal but that is no reason to suggest they should not take the tax breaks. If they did not sponsor the games they might not have happened or, if so, then we taxpayers would be paying a whole lot more and in spite of my own boredom with the whole thing it is good for us to host them.
