14:1093640I did mention on the front page about work in the former Dickies Discount.
A planning application has now been submitted to turn it into a "youth centre".
About time too!
Terry
ps I did put a link up but it seemed to go somewhere else!

07:4793752It is good news that a "club" for young people is to be set up there, but pardon me for asking and certainly not wanting to be a kill-joy, but who is paying for this ? It must be able to cover it's costs once set up.

09:0593763Roger,
All will become clear soon.
Sue Chandler is responsible for this & I understand the funding comes from sources other than DDC.
I believe the kids have been greatly involved in putting together the project.

19:0993832May well be Howard, as I pointed out DDC did not fund it.
Sue Chandler has been working on the project with DDC staff & DDC have handed over the site for an agreed period.

20:3293840had a read up on the report from rhys, it has to be added that pitman training and decor discount have provided materials for the mural that they will be working on.
on saturday they were in the co-op helping with loading bags and selling raffle tickets to gain mroe funding.
good luck to them.
