I notice in the background of second picture, that nothing has been placed on the vacant miners statue plot, is that correct?

It's a Humber of early 1920s vintage. Not a standard factory built saloon, I don't think - from the rather drab rear bodywork I suspect it's a coachbuilt special military staff car based on a 12/25 chassis.

Howard.
I was told to get it moved quick in the end bacause a monument for "The Channel Dash" was replacing the statue.
Brian.
He's not waiting any more, he's arrived at his final destination, where he belongs.

It was July29th 2010, Howard, almost two years ago now, doesn't time fly by! As far as I remember The Channel Dash Association were interested in having a memorial there.

Ah! now Howard, I couldn't just remember that, the one and only brain cell I've got left is in good shape but I dare not put too much strain on it, otherwise..............
I just hit the search button on the front page and typed in Miner Statue
Yes, I also wonder what happened to The Channel Dash memorial, I see GaryC has mentioned it too.
