    So what is that relative to assets and turnover?

    Only with that information can you make silly claims of it being 'excessive'.

    Remember when the banks were critisised over their profits and then what happened only a year or so later.... profit can dematerialise quickly if a company is not run efficiently.

    As for petrol pump prices, most of that is tax.

    These profits should be celebrated. Our pension and ISA funds will benefit, I have found from an 'X-Ray' that I have over £1,000 invested in these two companies (calculated from the proportion of the 21 funds in my pensions and ISA....) I suspect that anyone else reading this will have something similar if investigated.
