The post you are reporting:
It's rather sad to hear that local politics is still going through the trauma not enough people so we end up with the same.
Maybe it can be confirmed but I want to be impartial on this; KCC Elections
The conservatives have deselected Brain Cope, now although brian wasn't my cup of tea hhe did get around and certainly
was in county hall for some time.
Not standing for the tories also Kit Smith, now kit is a character and i have to say one of the few conservatives that actually took an interest in all cllrs and chatted to me when i stood down showing an interest ,
but also one of a few characters in the chamber
Also I hear Julie Rook has decided to stand down, julie was always a popular character, and i understand julie has interests elsewhere, but she will be a hard act to follow.
Julie turned around labour majorities firstly at District and then at county.
On the Liberal side; there realy have not been a party that has got involved in local politics, there best time when they held a large number of seats they didnt realy want control of the council, and slowly all those seats they worked hard to win
went down from 10 to 0
On the labour side;
Instead of standing we will see some new geezers coming through, but also some of the old gang(that may not be my buddies lol) trying to return(look at Deal)
Of course the old chestnut of forced women into seats has also taken place, and so one woman has been imposed in both Dover and Deal.
It is sad not to much new blood around, but more worrying of those that may be trying to return.
Local politics is a thankless task,
I do worry though for the future
