  The P.M. has taken time to write to the families in an act of compassion when service personnel have been killed in action. Yes he has made some errors in writing one letter, errors for which he has then apologised with a personal phone call to the mother and an apology she has accepted.
  
  While I do not think Political gain should ever be made from such an error as that in its self is disrespect to that family. However while some on here are doing some political bashing, I for one have never known any prime Minister take the time to write such condolences and I wonder if Mrs. T did during or after the Falklands, I doubt it as she was too busy wrapped up in her own glory at the victory.
